Classes and Hours
The Day School serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years old in five spacious classrooms: Infants, Toddler I, Toddler II, Threes, and Pre-K. We operate 7:00 am to 5:45 pm year-round from Monday through Friday, except for holidays and two teacher workdays. See our 2012 Calendar (PDF) for a complete schedule.
Teacher-Child Ratios
To help maintain a close-knit environment, the School elects to restrict its capacity to 64 children:
Infants 1:4 (max 8 infants)
Toddler I 1:5 (max 10 children)
Toddler II 1:6 (max 12 children)
Threes 1:8 (max 16 children)
Pre-K 1:9 (max 18 children)
Your child will benefit from our low child to staff ratios and commitment to on-going teacher education. Each classroom has a Lead and an Assistant Teacher. All of our Lead Teachers hold Bachelor's degrees, and some classes have two co-Lead Teachers, each with a Bachelor's. Our Assistant Teachers hold at least North Carolina credentials or are credentialed through the Child Development Association's (CDA) National Credentialing Program, and several Assistant teachers have their Associate's Degree.
Tuition
Tuition rates below are effective Sept 2011 - Aug 2012 and are paid monthly:
Infants $1137
Toddler I $1097
Toddler II $1071
Threes $918

We reserve spaces in each class for children receiving DSS subsidy vouchers and are able to offer some limited financial aid to other families. The Pre-K classroom participates in the NC Pre-K Program (formerly known as More at Four).
Meals and Nutrition
The children are given a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack each day. The School participates in North Carolina's Child and Adult Care Food Program, funded by the USDA, and is currently participating in the CCSA Meal Service Program. See a past menu (PDF).
